Srinagar, June 05 (KNO): Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat on Friday launched a tree plantation campaign in south Kashmir’s Anantnag on the occasion of World Environment Day, reaffirming the police department’s commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable development.
According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the campaign was inaugurated with the plantation of a deodar sapling (Cedrus deodara), symbolising the importance of preserving nature and increasing green cover across the Union Territory.
“Today, on the occasion of World Environment Day, Shri Nalin Prabhat-IPS, DGP J&K, started a tree plantation campaign by planting a Cedar tree (Cedrus deodara) at Anantnag to support environmental conservation, increase green cover and promote environmental awareness among employees and the public,” Kashmir Zone Police said in a post on X.—(KNO)
